General information. The Department of Poultry, Fish, Bees and Fur-bearing Animals Diseases was established in July in accordance with the “Roadmap” for the organization of the activities of SamVMI in Appendix 2 to the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 8, 2018 No. PQ-3703 “On the establishment of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine”.
Since July 2018, the Department has been headed by Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor Sh.N.Nasimov. Currently, since September 2024, the Department has been headed by Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor Z.B.Mamatova.
Currently, a total of 7 professors and teachers work at the Department. Of these, 2 are candidates of sciences, 2 are associate professors, 1 is a Doctor of Philosophy in Veterinary Sciences (RhD), and 4 are assistants. Every academic year, our department receives professors and teachers from foreign countries on an hourly basis to teach our students. In particular, Sadovnikova Ye.F., Associate Professor of the Belarusian State Agricultural University, and Imanbayev Aytkali Almurzayevich, Professor of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, are working here.

For students of the Master's degree program "Poultry diseases": "Infectious diseases of poultry", "Non-communicable diseases of poultry", "Parasitic diseases of poultry", "Veterinary and sanitary measures in poultry farms", "Scientific foundations of poultry farming";
Students of the "Fish Diseases" major are taught the subjects "Infectious Diseases of Fish", "Non-communicable Diseases of Fish", "Invasive Diseases of Fish", "Scientific Fundamentals of Fisheries", "Veterinary and Sanitary Measures in Fisheries";
Students of the "Bee Diseases" master's degree are taught the subjects "Infectious and Invasive Diseases of Bees", "Non-communicable Diseases of Bees", "Scientific Fundamentals of Beekeeping", "Biology of Bees" through lectures, laboratory and practical classes.
