In Uzbekistan, agriculture and animal husbandry are the leading branches of the country's economy, and according to statistics, 3.6 million people work in the system, that is, 27% of the people employed in the economy. It is known that the development of these sectors, which are the "driver" of the economy, is one of the important conditions for ensuring the independence, social, economic and political stability of Uzbekistan. As we observe the processes of globalization taking place in the world today, we are witnessing that the prices in the food market are continuously rising, and in some countries this situation is causing great protests and food shortages. This is increasing the demand from us to increase the quality of agricultural and livestock products and the export potential, and naturally, solving the problem has become one of the priorities of the state policy.
The development of the field is carried out first of all by training specialists.
Based on the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on March 31 of this year, the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnologies. was established on the basis of the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine. The university was reorganized as a base state higher education institution training personnel in the fields of veterinary medicine, veterinary and sanitary expertise, veterinary diagnostics and laboratory work, veterinary pharmaceutics, zoo engineering, veterinary biotechnology, livestock processing technology.
Based on advanced pedagogical technologies based on international educational standards, orientation of the educational process to the formation of practical skills, wide introduction of educational programs and innovative teaching-methodical materials, theoretical knowledge and practice in the veterinary clinic, educational and scientific laboratory, educational-experimental farm, production and processing enterprises. creation of necessary conditions to ensure harmony was defined as the main goals and tasks.
During the past 3 months, the first strategic directions of the newly established university were put into practice. In the last 4 years, one of the main problems that we have been thinking about is getting closer to the big manufacturing companies in the field. Today, we have established good relations with state-owned and private enterprises, large farms, contracts have been signed. At the moment, we can say that we are getting to the point where we can make a profit from these contracts as well.
The most important thing is that the specialists working in production are directly involved in creating the curriculum and work programs for us. For example, 4 years ago, all the hours allocated for practical training of students were assigned to professors and teachers. For 2 years, we have been able to assign 10-15% of these hours to practicing specialists. Now the goal is to give 60% of this indicator to practicing specialists, and the remaining 40% will be allocated to university professors and teachers. The reason is that during studies and practical training, students should understand and feel the nature of problems and situations in the production process and be ready for these processes as future professionals.
Every graduate who finishes his studies in higher education institutions and starts an independent job has the concept of "Efficiency of the first working day" ("The first working day competency "). Let's say that a veterinarian, on the first day of work at the site, a biotechnologist on the first day of work in a laboratory, on the day of work at a zootechnical enterprise, he should know what to start with. It is assumed that he can quickly adapt to the conditions by planning his daily and weekly work.
Many people were not interested in the life of our graduates after graduation. Where to work and what to do was a problem that belonged only to the young professional.
Since 2 years, the university has been organizing job fairs for graduates with the participation of manufacturers and employers. Our graduates are signing contracts with employers. And, of course, monitoring of these works is carried out. Employers turn to us, we are establishing close relations with them. In this process, employers express their suggestions and opinions. We will have more clear ideas about what knowledge we will teach students, what we will teach and what specialists we will prepare.
There is one aspect that makes us happy today - Most of the young people have their own goals, some of the graduates of the master's level definitely want to continue scientific activities, some of them aim to work in large clusters, and some young people want to engage in pedagogical activities.
Or our students, who have worked for 1 or 2 years in the production process, set new goals for themselves - bachelors continue their studies at the master's degree, masters try to get a doctorate. In recent years, our work on an international scale is bearing fruit (the University has established cooperation relations with about 100 prestigious international higher education institutions), the desire of our students to study foreign languages of their choice and continue their studies in similar higher education institutions of our partners in Germany, Portugal, Japan, the USA, Korea and other developed countries are reporting. We will certainly send them to the educational institutions of their choice. They study abroad in a different environment, get education, gain experience and return to Uzbekistan as stronger specialists.
According to the President, Uzbekistan is a country of great opportunities. A large amount of meat and other products are exported to our country in order to meet the needs of the population. There is also talk of allocating large funds from the state budget to these products. In the near future, we can import quality meat products of Uzbekistan to the whole world. We have enough opportunity and potential for this purpose.
We are training specialists for this purpose. Secondly, we plan to change the conditions in which farm animals are kept and to set up their feeding rations in the right way, and bring high-quality meat with different categories and classifications to the world market.
How is the most expensive and quality "Marble" meat on the market grown? To prepare this product, we need to know how to feed, feed and care for the animal.
Proper organization of the food ration of farm animals raised on farms and farms is one of the main conditions for growing quality meat.
If we take large cattle, the ration of those raised for meat is different, and vice versa, the ration of those raised for milk is completely different.
In order to ensure the organization of educational processes in the field of veterinary medicine in harmony with direct practice, the integration of science and technology, the construction of a veterinary clinic and technology park for disease diagnostics, operating at the expense of the economy, began at the University.
From the new academic year, 13 new educational directions were opened at the University. As new directions (animal feeding was one of our painful problems), specialists are being trained in plant science, fodder agronomy, desert plant studies in order to provide food for farm animals.
We are training accountants and economists for the livestock sector.
Biotechnology is a relatively new field for our country. We are training specialists in plant science biotechnology, veterinary biotechnology, and biotechnologies of ensuring food safety in production.
The university is a multidisciplinary higher education institution. Our material technical base is sufficient, there are opportunities, educational and scientific laboratories are functioning at the required level.
Based on the decision of the President, it is planned to build 3 more dormitories in the university this year.
This year, the University will send its first swallows - more than 600 graduates to independent life.
90% of the initial job allocation for their employment has been completed. The demand for our graduates in the labor market is high, the need for qualified personnel has increased, and employers recognize that the level of our graduates this year is much higher than the graduates of previous academic years.
Our graduates mainly specialize in animal husbandry in regional veterinary and animal husbandry development departments, district departments, livestock diagnosis and food safety laboratories, livestock specialized clusters, private veterinary service offices, republican and regional livestock administrations and district departments within the system of the State Committee for the Development of Veterinary and Livestock of the Republic. He is getting a job in scientific research institutes, farms and clusters.
It should be acknowledged that there is a 90-year-old school in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry in ancient Samarkand, and today the major representatives of this school, moreover, their students work at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnologies. We plan to enter the top 1000 with new methodologies and new technologies.
It will be applied to the production of new ideas born in this blessed place and will serve for the development of the economy of our country and the well-being of our people.
