The Department of Parasitology and Organization of Veterinary Affairs was established by order of the Rector of the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology of August 31, 2022 No. 147. “On Ensuring the Implementation of the Approved New Structure of the University”, the former Department of Parasitology organized on the basis of the Department of Organization of Veterinary Business.
In the past, the department was headed by Professor N.V.Badanin, Academician I.Kh.Ergashev, Associate Professor T.A.Abdurakhmonov, Professor R.B.Davlatov, Professor Sh.Kh.Kurbanov. Associate Professor A.S.Daminov is in charge.
In the past, the department was headed by the Honored Scientist of Uzbekistan, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor I.Kh.Irgashev (from 1965 to 2004). Under the guidance of the scientist, the helminth fauna of the republic was studied, measures were developed for the prevention of a number of parasitic and helminths in cattle. The scientist trained 10 doctors of science and more than 50 candidates of science, created a school of veterinary parasitologists and helminthologists of Uzbekistan, also professor B.S. Sciences and more than 20 PhDs.
Over the past 5 years, the department has published 2 textbooks, 4 manuals, more than 500 scientific articles and 10 scientific recommendations. Also, 5 doctoral dissertations (PhD) were defended in 2020-2022. Joint relations are maintained with 10 farms and enterprises of our republic, as well as scientific cooperation with the Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after Skryabin, the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, as well as with the Tashkent State Agrarian University.
Currently, the department has 2 doctors of science professor (R.B.Davlatov, A.S.Daminov), 4 candidates of science, associate professors (Sh.Kh.Kurbanov, P.S.Khakberdiev, T.I.Tailakov and B.M.Shamsiev), 2 assistants of the candidate of sciences (B.S.Rustamov and K.Kh.Urakov), 5 assistants without a scientific degree (A.R.Tursunkulov, D.Kh.Nishonov, G.G.Jabbarov, Sh.Mukhammadieva, I.Kh.Raimkulov) and 1 head of the laboratory (V.Karshieva), 1 laboratory assistant (I.Usmonov).
The constant improvement of the scientific, pedagogical and creative skills of the faculty of the department is carried out, the formation of deep theoretical knowledge, practical and professional skills among students, the awakening of interest in science, the instillation of national and universal values, mature in all aspects, to train specialists, to effectively conduct spiritual and educational work with students, strengthen ideological immunity, cultivate high moral qualities, improve the system of individual work with students, students are fixed according to the "Teacher-student" scheme.
The main goal of spiritual and educational work is the formation of a healthy lifestyle for young people, and in the next 5 years, along with the spiritual and educational activities of the work of the respected President Sh.M.Mirziyoyev, young people also widely study knowledge among the teaching staff.
The department has a specialty of parasitic and infectious diseases of animals 70840302-masters and a doctor in the specialty 03.00.06-Zoology of veterinary sciences, training of scientific and pedagogical personnel has begun.
