In the "Palace of Culture" of the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnologies, the state of preparation for the new 2024-2025 academic year and prospective plans for the new 2024-2025 academic year were presented by the rector of the university, professor Yunusov Khudaynazar Beknazarovich, with the participation of the university and its branches, technical school and academic lyceum teams. an open dialogue meeting was held.
At the meeting,
the rector of the university expressed his opinion about the content and purpose
of the state policy regarding youth conducted in our country, the state of
preparation for the new academic year and the prospective plans to be
implemented.
It was noted that for the 2024-2025 academic year, 401 applicants for full-time bachelor's education were admitted to the university on the basis of a state grant, 768 were accepted for study on the basis of a fee-contract, and 13 were accepted for part-time education. 1 applicant was recommended for studentship on the basis of a state grant, 652 on a fee-contract basis. Also, new courses "Food technology" and "Management" were opened at the university from this academic year.
In preparation for
the academic year, educational auditoriums, ICT equipment, laboratories,
practical training and seminar rooms, vivariums were inventoried and put into
working condition. According to the
decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 3703 dated May 8,
2018, the main educational building of the university with 1310 seats was
completely renovated. The building has
175 classrooms, an information resource center with 150 seats, a hall of
activists with 450 seats, and an indoor sports complex with 420 seats.
The university has student accommodation with 400 and 450 beds. Two more dormitories are about to be commissioned this year. If they start working, there will be around 1300 student accommodation. Also, student dormitories are being built on the basis of public-private partnership. As a result, 40-50% of students' housing needs are covered. Also, the "Registration Office" will start working at the university starting from the new academic year.
12 modern veterinary, animal husbandry and biotechnology laboratories on the territory of the university given by the World Bank were inventoried and prepared for the new academic year. The laboratories of chemistry, storage and processing technology of agricultural products were provided with additional equipment and made operational by the Islamic Development Bank. In order to improve the quality of education in the educational process, a mobile veterinary service in veterinary medicine, veterinary telemedicine, monitoring of diagnostic, treatment, and surgical processes in veterinary vivarium, online monitoring of processes in auditoriums and branches was created.
Then the
vice-rectors of the university gave a speech and talked about the progress
achieved in their fields, preparations and plans for this academic year. Also, at the meeting, opinions were heard
about the work carried out in preparation for the new academic year in the
branches of the university, the technical school and the academic lyceum, as
well as the future plans. During the
interview, it was emphasized that the rector of the university should pay
serious attention to the provision of accommodation for students, give ideas
about the opportunities provided, such as the admission of students graduating
from technical schools to the university based on an interview, and the need
for leaders to work individually with each employee and student.
During the
meeting, which took place in an open and dialogic manner, the officials gave
detailed answers to the questions and gave appropriate instructions regarding
the problems awaiting solution.
