"GLOBAL AND NATIONAL CHALLENGES OF ANIMAL GENETICS AND NUTRITION IN MEETING THE DEMAND FOR LIVESTOCK PRODUCTS"




An international scientific and practical conference on this topic was held at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology.

     The conference was attended by the United Nations Representative on Agriculture and Food Security in Uzbekistan, professors from the University of Minnesota, the Karaganda Technical University and the National Agrarian University of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the Veterinary and Livestock Development Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Research Institute of Karakul and Desert Ecology, the Research Institute of Livestock and Poultry, and university professors and teachers.

     Opening the conference with an introductory speech, the rector of the university, Professor Khudaynazar Yunusov, touched upon the work being carried out to fully satisfy the demand of our country's population for livestock products, create a solid feed base for their cultivation, establish cooperation between scientific institutions and industry representatives to create breeds that are productive and suitable for local climatic conditions, and develop scientifically based standards and rations for all types of livestock in order to fully meet the feed requirements of livestock, emphasizing that the issues and proposals to be considered at this conference will serve the development of the industry.

     Also, Alisher Safarov, Head of the Department of the Veterinary and Livestock Development Committee, expressed his views on the positive work being carried out by our government, in particular the Committee, to rapidly develop the livestock sector, introduce modern and innovative methods, increase the volume of product production, expand its range, as well as continuously provide the population with high-quality, affordable livestock products produced in local conditions.

     The United Nations Representative on Agriculture and Food Security in Uzbekistan A.Namozov, Director of the Karakul and Desert Ecology Research Institute Ye.Shaptakov, Deputy Director of the Livestock and Poultry Research Institute Sh.Jabborov expressed their opinions on the topic, while Professor Abdolreza Kamab of the University of Minnesota, USA, spoke on “On Poultry Feeding”, Professor Rizabek Kadiken of the Kazakhstan National Agrarian University “Improving the Gene Pool of Sheep and Goats”, Associate Professor of the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agro-Innovations, Candidate of Sciences, Senior Researcher D.Uldoshev spoke on “The Need for Uzbekistan to Transition to a System of Energy Assessment of Feed Values ​​in the Context of Global Climate Change”.

    The issues and proposals considered at the conference with the participation of experts will serve to meet the demand for livestock products. This was highlighted during the event.
