The Uzbek language is the symbol of our statehood, the soul of our nation, cultural and spiritual property and wealth, culture, tradition, lifestyle and history of our people. language is a great blessing and an immortal value that expresses the unity and existence of our nation. Therefore, a number of legal and regulatory documents have been adopted in our country to strengthen the status of the Uzbek language, and systematic work is being carried out.
On October 21, 1989, as a bold step towards independence, the historic Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the State Language" was adopted, and the soul of our language, which has been bent, came to life. After the adoption of the new version of this Law, compatible with the life of our independent state, on December 21, 1995, the position of the Uzbek language was literally restored, and its protection was officially guaranteed.
survival of the language in society, increase in vocabulary, preservation of purity is a process related to the attitude of the users of this language to their own language. therefore, each of our compatriots is required to treat our mother tongue with respect, to use all their abilities and talents to protect its reputation.
Decree No. PF-5850 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 21, 2019 "On measures to fundamentally increase the prestige and status of the Uzbek language as a state language", dated October 20, 2020 "Further development of the Uzbek language in our country and improvement of language policyDecree No. PF-6084 "on measures" was adopted.in these regulatory documents, "to fundamentally increase the prestige of the Uzbek language in the social life of our people and at the international level, to educate our growing youth in the spirit of patriotism, loyalty to national traditions and values, to ensure the full implementation of the state language in our country. It is important to preserve and develop the languages of the nations and peoples of Uzbekistan, to create conditions for learning the Uzbek language as the state language, to determine the strategic goals, priority directions and tasks, and future stages of the development of the Uzbek language and language policyfocused. In 2020-2030, the tasks envisaged in the concept of the development of the Uzbek language and the improvement of the language policy naturally increase the responsibility of representatives of all fields, especially philological teachers. including achieving full and proper use of state language capabilities in all spheres of social and political life of our country, which is defined as a priority task in the concept; to further improve the system of teaching the state language in educational organizations, to increase its prestige as a language of sciencethere is no doubt that the issues of preserving the purity of the state language, enriching it, and improving the speech culture of the population are relevant not only to representatives of the philological field, but also to every citizen working in all aspects of our life.
At this point, it is permissible to dwell on some aspects that are visible around us and reflect our attitude to our language. for example, Article 20 of the Law "On the State Language" stipulates that "Signs, announcements, price lists and other visual and verbal informational texts shall be formalized and published in the state language and may be translated into other languages" and that this clause is not being taken into accountIt shows disregard for the law as well as our own mother tongue. The fact that some posters, announcements, and visual texts are written not only against the Law, but also in an illiterate manner makes the reader think: is this indifference or lack of control, disrespect for the language or disrespect, a mistake in education or a gap in spirituality, shamelessness, indecency ordishonesty?however, the language is the mirror of the nation!
Another aspect. Currently, great attention is paid to learning foreign languages in our country. the goal is to learn different languages, gain experience in foreign countries, and apply the knowledge and experience gained in improving the economic and social life of our country, ensuring the well-being of our people, and achieving our country's status as one of the highly developed countries. Avaz O'tar, one of the nationalist poets, "Try to know the foreign language, young people, it is obvious from anyone who has knowledge and skills. It is not for nothing that he said that you need to know every language as if it were your mother tongue. but it should not be forgotten that the nationalist and enlightened writer Ishaq Khan said in Ibrat language: "Our youth should definitely try to learn another language, but first they should show respect to their mother tongue. After all, loyalty to one's language is a patriotic matter."
this year, it has been 34 years since our mother tongue was granted the status of State Language. This historical date and the Uzbek language holiday are widely celebrated throughout our country. Minutes of the meeting No. 175 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 5, 2023 "On measures related to the celebration of the 34th anniversary of the granting of the status of the state language to the Uzbek language and October 21 - the day of the Uzbek language holiday in the ministry system", Ministry of Agriculture, Spiritualityand in order to ensure the execution of the minutes of the meeting of the Council of Enlightenment No. 01/08-50 dated October 11, 2023 and the order No. 03-3008 dated October 14, 2023 of B.T. Norqabilov, Chairman of the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Development Committee under the Ministry of Agriculture "Appreciate itlet it be loud, my mother tongue!''a number of spiritual and educational events and various competitions are held under the slogan. Active participation of not only students, but also professors and teachers is ensured in them. among them, the teachers of the Uzbek, Russian languages and literature department organized the "Linguists" intellectual game among university students within the "Uzbek language week", essay competition on the topic "Language is the mirror of the nation", dictation on the topic "Uzbek language - my pride, pride", video andchallenge contests, quizzes, as well as roundtable discussions and meetings are held.
.Also, preparations for organizing a big holiday event are underway. It is planned to invite guests from various organizations and higher education institutions to the event. We hope that such events will be of great importance in fostering love and respect for our mother tongue in the hearts of students and members of the wider community. as our president noted, "Each of us should regard attention to the state language as attention to independence, respect and loyalty to the state language as respect and loyalty to the Motherland, and make this view the rule of our lives." therefore, each of us should treat our language with deep respect, not be indifferent to raising the prestige of our mother tongue at the international level, adding it to the ranks of languages developed on the basis of national and universal concepts, and our contribution to strengthening its status and reputationwe should join.because as long as there is a language, the nation is alive.
Happy Uzbek language holiday!
