Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology, the only one in Central Asia, currently cooperates with more than 80 prestigious higher educational and research institutions of the world. On the basis of academic exchange programs with foreign higher educational institutions, within the framework of projects - Erasmus +, Twinning, Buznet, IAEA, teachers and students of the educational institution regularly participate in seminars and trainings of international level. Today, 6122 bachelors in 23 areas, 246 masters in 32 specialties study at the university.

Together with the Republican Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministries of Agriculture, the Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development, the above issues were discussed at the Republican Educational and Methodological Seminar on the Basic Principles of Improving Curricula for Higher Educational Institutions and Technical Schools for Training Personnel in the Field of Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Breeding and improving the quality of education.
Opening the seminar, the rector of the university, Professor Hudainazar Yunusov noted: “After raising the status of our educational institution, on the basis of the decision of the President, Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology has become the main higher educational institution that trains specialists in veterinary medicine and zootechnics in our country. According to international standards, such specialists are trained for at least 5-7 years. We must implement our educational and methodological programs and plans based on these requirements.”
Representatives of 15 universities and about 20 professional educational institutions of our country and abroad took part in the educational and methodological seminar.
On the topic of improving educational and scientific programs based on the credit system in higher and professional education and ensuring their integrity, as well as the requirements for training personnel in the areas and specialties of veterinary medicine, the head of the educational and methodological department of the university, acting professor, Rahmatillo Ruzikulov and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Prevention and Treatment Shukurullo Kurbanov.
A lecture was given by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Diagnostics and Food Safety, Professor Ravshan Davlatov, on the topic of the veterinary service, the integration of science, education and production in ensuring food safety. The speeches of the Director of the Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Bozorboy Elmurodov and the Director of the Research Institute of Astrakhan Breeding and Desert Ecology, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Associate Professor Erkin Shaptakov, also sparked a discussion.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the University, Professor Abdugani Elmurodov in his speech emphasized: "Today, the demand for such specialists is very high both in the local market and in the international labor market. Personnel potential depends on several important factors. To improve the quality of education, first of all, the availability of a material and technical base, educational and scientific laboratories, the formation of a team with scientific and high pedagogical qualifications, as well as foreign experience - play an important role.
The event was attended by the First Deputy Director of the Center for Research in Higher Education, the Introduction of Advanced Technologies of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation M. Esanov, and the Head of the Department of the Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development S. Mavlonov.
