According to the decree of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 8, 2018 PQ 3703, Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine was established, within which the Faculty of Veterinary prevention and treatment began to function as a new faculty. In the current period, more than 1,302 students studied, and in 2022, 237 of the first graduates of the faculty received a referral to the veterinary service.

Twinning project with the University of Minnesota of the USA. At the summer school established in KazNAU-17 professors and students qualified in an online 72-hour course of study. As of 2024, 5 professors and teachers participated in a 72-hour summer school in Kazakhstan. More than 4 foreign professors of the top 1000 universities were admitted to work. More than 25 foreign professors have made online reports. 12 faculty members gave 12-hour lectures at Top 1000-hole universities. Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Agrarian-Technical University of West Kazakhstan named after Zhangir khan and Turkmen Agricultural institute.
Our university was visited by teachers and students of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after Skryabin of the Kyrgyz Republic. On February 20, 2025, Aitbek Uulu Ilgiz, a senior lecturer at the Department of “Obstetrics and surgery” of the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after Skryabin of the Kyrgyz Republic, held training classes on “Problems in Feed Production, their solutions and future tasks”. Also on academic mobility exchange of students to Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, livestock and biotechnology 2024/2025-8th semester of academic year(Spring) 4 students Abdusamiev Mirlanbek, Masaliev Mairambek, Kalykulov Bakytbek and Kubanychbek uulu Mirlan are allowed to study in the 4th course of Veterinary Medicine (by type of activity) education from March 13 to May 19.
On February 28, 2025, an online seminar on “Education and opportunities abroad” was held for students of the Faculty of Veterinary prevention and treatment.
Seminar guest: Erkinov Shakhboz, who graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary prevention and treatment, is studying at the graduate level of the Italian university, winner of a 100% scholarship from the Ministry of Agriculture
Shakhboz Erkinov shared valuable information about studying abroad, the process of applying for grants and scholarship programs, the secrets of becoming a successful candidate.
During the event, students received answers to questions of their interest and received important recommendations for education abroad.

The state educational standard of the developed field of “Veterinary” was first of all examined by representatives of the STC under the Cabinet of Ministers. Then 1st year students of the rector of the Institute dated 30.06.2022, 2nd year students are approved by the order of the rector of the Institute dated 27.08.2021, 3rd year students № 418 of UZR Oomtv on August 14, 2020, and 4th year on August 25, 2018 No. 744, developed MT and model curriculum is being developed for undergraduate education areas and used in the educational process.
On the basis of modern achievements of science, it is required to educate individuals who can independently think and reflect, as well as to create a new generation of educational literature in the training of competitive, highly qualified personnel. Extensive work is being carried out by the faculty's professors on the preparation of new textbooks, teaching aids, educational and methodological instructions, their printing, providing literature on the subjects taught in educational areas.The following scientific laboratories operate at the faculty:1. Laboratory of pathomorphology2. Laboratory of Hematology3. Laboratory of Pharmacology and toxicology.4. Inter-department “Opta-tech” laboratory5. Vivaria, aquarium roomThe degree of provision of literature in the direction of education available at the faculty was studied, and the level of provision for subjects in the curriculum for its analysis is from 90 to 100 percent.

Today, our faculty has established scientific cooperation with the Italian University of Pisa, the Sang-Petersburg State Veterinary Academy and the Vitebsk State Veterinary Medicine academies.Scientific research is being carried out on the basis of cooperation agreements with 16 enterprises corresponding to the specialization of the faculty.
