The department was established in 1993 as the department of “Chemical technology of product processing and organic chemistry” within the Samarkand Agricultural Institute based on the educational directions “Conservation technology” and “Technology of leather and fur processing”. In 1997, the educational directions were changed to the educational direction “Food technology”, so the name of the department was changed to “Product processing technology and organic chemistry”.
Since September 2001, the direction was “Technology of cultivation, storage and primary processing of agricultural products”, so the department was called “Organization of preparation, storage and processing of agricultural products”.
In 2015, due to changes in the classifier, the department was called “Technology of storage and processing of agricultural products”.
Since 2018, it has been renamed the Department of “Technology of Storage and Processing of Livestock and Plant Products” within the Samarkand Institute of Veterinary Medicine.
Since 2022, it has been renamed the Department of “Technology of Processing of Agricultural Products, Standardization and Certification” within the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology.
Since 2024, it has been operating as the Department of “Technology of Production, Storage and Processing of Products” within the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology.
