Biotechnology is a relatively new field for our country. This field, which emerged as a result of development - a set of industrial methods that use living organisms and biological processes in various fields of agriculture, industry and medicine - embodies the possibilities of biology and technology at the same time.
It is difficult to imagine biotechnological processes without modern laboratories. After all, the field of biotechnology is directly related to production. Creating new varieties and breeds of plants and animals using genetic engineering using biotechnology methods, breeding rare and endangered plants using cell engineering, enriching animal feed, breeding high-yielding producers, extracting physiologically active substances from microorganisms, DNA analysis, etc. consists of in-depth study and implementation.
It is worth noting that the presence of modern equipped laboratories in the education of students of biotechnology education plays a very important role in providing students with certain theoretical knowledge, and in creating skills and qualifications for applying this knowledge in practice.
Currently, in all higher educational institutions of our republic, great attention is paid to improving the effectiveness of the educational process in order to improve the educational process. Laboratory work is important in the in-depth study of biotechnology. Formation of new knowledge and practical skills, use of practical teaching methods is the main essence of laboratory work. Modern requirements for the educational process direct the formation of knowledge and skills by organizing the activities of teachers and students.
A biotechnological educational laboratory corresponding to modern requirements has been established under the Department of Biotechnology of our university. This educational laboratory is fully equipped with modern laboratory equipment. Currently, the laboratory is used for classes and scientific research.
During the classes, students will perform important laboratory processes such as the technology of preparing artificial nutrient media, the methods of reproduction of producers used on a large scale in the industry, DNA separation from plant cells, DNA electrophoresis in agarose gel, growing plants from the apical meristem of the tip in vitro.
In the educational laboratory of biotechnology, students are conducting exercises based on the theoretical knowledge they have acquired during the educational process. This is important for them to become mature professionals in the future. In carrying out these processes, we are abandoning traditional education and using modern education, that is, modern equipped laboratories and e-learning resources on a large scale.
Algae, whose composition is rich in protein, is being cultivated in the Biotechnology educational laboratory. Scientific research works are being carried out such as the use of this algae as a protein-rich bio-additive for livestock, fishery and poultry feed and for the purpose of wastewater treatment.
By the way, one of the urgent problems facing the biotechnology teacher today is the design of modern educational technologies and its application in teaching practice. In the university, this process is continuously and intensively implemented.
