A CREATIVE MEETING WAS HELD AT SAMSUVMLB WITH EMPLOYEES OF THE "ZARAFSHON" NEWSPAPER AND THE ZARNEWS.UZ WEBSITE

While print media is gradually giving way to online publications and social networks around the world, especially in the CIS countries, debates continue in the Uzbek media segment about whether print media is needed or not. At first glance, there seems to be some truth in the opinions of both sides of the debate. Opponents of the future of print media believe that the press will never be able to transition to a format that can interest the reader. Opponents of this idea argue that the demise of print media will be the beginning of illiteracy, thoughtlessness, and lack of enlightenment in society.

The meeting of the editor-in-chief of the joint editorial office of the newspapers "Zarafshon" and "Samarkandskiy vestnik" F. Toshev, editor of the ZarNews.uz website A. Haydarov, deputy editor-in-chief G. Hasanov, and reporter G. Muminova with creative teachers and students of the university also discussed this topic, drawing attention to the fact that today most people's attention is being captured by the Internet, and the negative consequences of not reading books and newspapers.

Opening the creative meeting, the rector of the university, academician Khudaynazar Yunusov, noted that such dialogues are becoming an important space for exchanging ideas and enriching scientific and creative consciousness not only for students, but also for teachers, and noted that meetings with creative people are both a source of communication and inspiration for teachers, because a teacher who is able to put his thoughts on paper and convey them to the public is a true intellectual of society.

Also during the event, the editor-in-chief of the joint editorial office of the newspapers "Zarafshon" and "Samarkandskiy vestnik" F. Toshev, the head of the regional branch of the Journalists' Union of Uzbekistan Akram Haydarov, and the correspondent G. Muminova touched upon the positive aspects of reading books and newspapers. They provided information about the books published in the library of the newspaper "Zarafshon" in recent years and read from their own works.

At the end of the meeting, students also read from their own works and asked questions to journalists and creators. Books were presented to students who actively participated in the event.
