A republican scientific and practical conference was organized at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnology on the topic “The role of genetic engineering and molecular genetics in animal husbandry of our republic” .
This conference was devoted to the issues of widespread introduction of modern biotechnology in the animal husbandry sector, effective use of genetic resources, and improvement of the scientific basis of selection work.

The conference was attended by scientists from higher educational institutions of Russia, Kazakhstan, and the Kyrgyz Republic, specialists in the field of animal husbandry, doctoral candidates, young researchers, and talented students. During the event, scientific research on determining the genetic potential of livestock, the use of molecular genetic markers in breeding work, and the creation and preservation of high-yielding breeds was discussed.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, the rector of the university, Professor Khudaynazar Yunusov, noted the increasing importance of genetic engineering and molecular genetics in the development of livestock farming, increasing productivity and producing competitive products in our country.
It was also noted that combining scientific research in this area with practice and applying innovative technologies to production are one of the urgent tasks of today.

The conference continued in sections, during which scientific reports were heard on the study of the genetic diversity of livestock, genome selection, improvement of breeding based on DNA markers, reproductive biotechnology and detection of genetic diseases. The participants exchanged views on the results of research conducted by them, best practices and promising projects.

The scientific work of young scientists and researchers was also specially recognized within the framework of the conference. They presented their research on the use of modern molecular genetic methods in animal husbandry and put forward innovative ideas for the development of the industry.
This republican scientific and practical conference played an important role in supporting scientific research in the field of animal husbandry, implementing innovative developments in practice, and training highly qualified specialists.

It was emphasized that the proposals and recommendations made during the conference will serve the further development of animal husbandry in our country.
