ACHIEVEMENTS, PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS IN THE FIELD OF AGRICULTURAL CROP SELECTION AND SEED BREEDING TECHNOLOGY"
An international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Achievements, problems and prospects in the field of agricultural crop breeding and seed production technology" was held at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of the Honored Agricultural Worker of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Academician D.T. Abdukarimov.
The conference was attended by representatives of the regional administration, luminaries, scientists in the field, university rectors, media representatives, professors and teachers, specialists from scientific centers operating in the system, young scientists and students.
Opening the conference with an introductory speech, the university rector, Professor Khudaynazar Yunusov, congratulated Abdukarimov Diamat Tokhtayevich, a well-known scientist who made a worthy contribution to the development of our country's agriculture and the training of specialists in the field, a distinguished agricultural worker in Uzbekistan, and the founder of the Republican Scientific School of Potato Growing, on his 90th birthday. He especially noted that D.T. Abdukarimov's services were duly recognized by our government, and he was awarded the Order of "El-yurt Khurmati" by President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, the Certificate of Honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Council, the "Shukhrat" medal, more than 30 certificates of honor and diplomas of ministries and other organizations, the International Jubilee Medal in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of N.I. Vavilov, the "Excellence in Higher Education" breastplate, the silver and large commemorative medals of VDNKh.
Also participating in the conference were the regional governor's advisor N. Ibragimov, rector of Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov, professor R. Kholmurodov, editor-in-chief of the joint editorial office of the newspapers "Zarafshon" and "Samarkandskiy vestnik" F. Toshev, head of the department of the Committee for the Development of Veterinary Medicine and Livestock of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Safarov, chairman of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, professor A. Hamzayev, rectors of higher educational institutions and other guests. They noted that the devoted teacher developed new methods for creating high-yielding, intensive varieties and heterosis hybrids of potatoes, vegetables, grains and other crops, an accelerated method for growing elite seeds, and other theoretical foundations for fundamental and applied research, which made a great contribution to the further development of this area in our republic. D.T. Abdukarimov has written more than 400 textbooks, monographs, textbooks, methodological works and articles, They especially noted the creation of 16 textbooks and training manuals, including "Fundamentals of Farming and Forage Growing", "Tobacco Growing", "Fundamentals of Field Crop Selection, Seed Production and Genetics", "Food and Seed Production", and "Special Selection" Cultivation."
The conference continued, divided into sections, on topics such as "Main directions of agricultural crop breeding, sources of starting materials, methods, achievements and prospects", "Agroecological and agrotechnological foundations of agricultural production", "Legal, organizational and economic foundations of cultivation, storage and processing of agricultural crops in agroclusters and farms", "Biology and processing technology of feed and medicinal crops used in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine", "Mechanization and automation of agricultural seed production".
