"CAREER DAY": ABOUT 1,600 JOBS WERE OFFERED TO STUDENTS




On April 26 of this year, an open discussion and "Career Day" were held at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology on the topic "Modern staff training, systematic support of talented youth, and prospects for ensuring the employment of graduates in their specialties" to ensure student employment.

 

     Representatives of the regional departments of the Veterinary and Livestock Development Committee, enterprises and organizations participated in the job fair with vacancies at the Samarkand regional branch of the State Service Development Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Veterinary and Livestock Development Committee under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Samarkand regional Main Department of Poverty Reduction and Employment.

     A total of 6,156 students are currently studying at the university, including 6,044 bachelor's and 108 master's degrees.

     According to the results of the surveys, 658 students expressed a desire to work. In the current academic year, 1,448 graduates are graduating from 23 bachelor's degrees and 5 graduates from 100 master's degrees. Currently, about 60 percent of university students are employed, including 201 students who were placed in vacant positions based on internal opportunities.

    Opening the event, the Rector of the University, Professor Khudaynazar Yunusov, noted that starting in 2022, students will be able to conduct internships in large enterprises, organizations, clusters with stable operations, and in advanced foreign companies, and that today's event will be an important factor in helping graduating students choose their desired profession and life path. The heads of the employing enterprises and organizations expressed their gratitude for meeting with students, signing bilateral and trilateral agreements, and cooperating in ensuring the employment of graduates.

     At the "Career Day" event, employers provided students with detailed information about the conditions created for them, the qualifications and skills required for work. As a result, 380 students received job offers. Of these, 201 managed to sign contracts.

It is worth noting that the university has established partnerships with more than 60 large companies, clusters and other enterprises, and plans to provide employment for 1,500 students by the end of the year. For this purpose, memorandums of cooperation were signed with enterprises and organizations such as the “Siyob-Shavkat-Orzu” cluster, “Bukhara Karakul cluster”, “Bukhara Agrocluster”, “Navoi New Age” cluster, “Zarafshon parranda Lomann” LLC, “Bogbon IN-VITRO” biotechnology laboratory, “AgroMIR” LLC, “Meva-Marakand” LLC, “Karakolchilik Uyushma”, “Chorvanasl” agency, republican and regional “Agromashservis” MTP LLC, “Juma Elevator” JSC, “Kamalak Invest” clusters.

In a word, today's event was a practical expression of the established state policy to further develop the integration between science, education and production, and ensure the employment of students and youth.
