Based on paragraph 4 of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 31, 2022, UP-187 “On the fundamental improvement of the training system in the field of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry”, Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology is considered the lead state higher educational institution that provides training in the areas of veterinary medicine, veterinary and sanitary examination, veterinary diagnostics and laboratory work, veterinary pharmaceuticals, zooengineering, veterinary biotechnology, animal products processing technology. In connection with the implementation of the order of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 9, 2023 No. 259 “On improving the process of developing normative and methodological documents of higher education”, the first meeting of the veterinary education sector was held at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology University Coordinating Council. Under the leadership of the head of the Coordinating Council of the sector of veterinary education of the university, Professor Kh.B. Yunusov, the branch council of veterinary education was held, which was attended by heads of specialized departments, heads of educational and methodological departments, vice-rectors (deputy directors) from 11 similar higher educational institutions, operating in our republic and engaged in the training of personnel in the field of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry. The Council was attended by the Head of the Department of the Center for the Development of Higher Education of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations L.R. Zaripov, the Head of the Department for the Development of Science and Education of the Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development A.A. At the suggestion of the members of the Council, the heads of research institutes, leading enterprises and organizations of the system were also included in the Coordinating Industry Council. At the meeting of the Coordinating Industry Council, the Charter, structure and regulations on the Council were approved. At the same time, during the event, curricula and qualification requirements in the areas of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry were discussed, and based on the proposals of the members present, improved curricula and qualification requirements were formed.
