The Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnology is hosting the 1st International Forum on the Development of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry on the topic “The Role of Science and Innovative Technologies in Solving Problems in the Field of Veterinary Medicine and Livestock”.

The conference, organized for the first time with the support of the national academies of sciences of the CIS countries, is attended by prominent scientists, academicians, professors and teachers, as well as specialists in the field from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Belarus.

Before the event, the participants got acquainted with the scientific developments, food products and national handicraft exhibitions organized on the territory of the university.

– Last October, at our university, at the 7th International Congress of Veterinary Pharmacologists and Toxicologists of the Commonwealth of Independent States, we discussed the development of animal husbandry and solutions to the problems of antibiotic resistance, – says the rector of the university Kh. Yunusov. – At the meeting, it was agreed to develop solutions to urgent problems in the field using specialists from the CIS countries and science and innovative technologies, as well as to strengthen cooperation between research institutions and practitioners. Today's event, which is being held for this purpose, will pay special attention not only to ensuring food safety, developing veterinary medicine and animal husbandry, but also to sharing best practices in the field and preserving human health within the framework of One Health.

The forum will organize online and offline meetings, sectional meetings, presentations of scientific reports and master classes on six topics. It is also planned to sign memorandums of cooperation between the participating countries and reach agreements on joint scientific projects, which is expected to bring scientific and practical relations between the CIS countries to a new level.
