THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE IN VITRO SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL LABORATORY WAS HELD AT SAMSUVMLB
The IV Republican Educational and Methodological Seminar on “Priority Tasks of Improving the Quality of Personnel Training in the Fields of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry” and the opening ceremony of the IN VITRO Scientific and Practical Laboratory, organized under the Department of Biotechnology of the Faculty of Biotechnology, were held at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology on “Career Day” to ensure the employment of University graduates in the 2024/2025 academic year.
The Rector of the University, Professor Kh.B. Yunusov, spoke to the visiting guests about several advantages of the IN VITRO laboratory, in particular, the ability to obtain genetically uniform, high-quality plants, year-round seedling cultivation (not dependent on the season), the ability to quickly and in large quantities, the ability to obtain disease-free seedlings in a sterile environment, and the fact that the income from seedlings grown in vitro is 5 times higher than that of seedlings propagated in the traditional way.
Growing vegetative organs of plants in vitro based on biotechnological approaches allows for the creation of suitable sources for molecular genetics and practical selection processes. Biotechnological approaches based on biotechnological methods or cell-based selection are characterized by the following directions. In particular, the direction aimed at accelerating selection processes, creating genotype diversity and increasing the possibility of selection.
Here, special attention is paid to microclonal propagation of plant species or varieties suitable for the conditions.
