ENERGY END THE COMMUNITY

To reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability, Samarqand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock, and Biotechnology has implemented several initiatives that integrate environmental responsibility into campus operations, education and research. Below is an overview of the universitys main areas of action

1.Carbon and Emission Reduction Measures:

a)Renewable Energy Integration

SSUV has invested in solar panel systems to generate clean electricity for campus buildings, reducing dependence on grid power. This initiative significantly lowers carbon emissions and serves as a practical model for renewable energy use in higher education institutions.

b)Energy Efficiency Measures

The university continues to upgrade lighting, heating and cooling systems to more energy-efficient technologies. Energy monitoring systems are used to track consumption and identify opportunities for further reduction.

c)Sustainable Transportation

To decrease fuel-related emissions, SSUV promotes the use of energy-efficient vehicles, shared transportation options and eco-driving practices for campus shuttles and official cars.

d)Waste Management and Recycling

SSUV is strengthening waste separation and recycling programs across the campus. Organic waste is managed responsibly and awareness campaigns encourage students and staff to minimize waste generation.

SSUVs Divestment Policy aims to gradually phase out investments in fossil fuel-based energy and redirect financial resources toward affordable and clean energy solutions. The university supports renewable energy projects and energy-efficient technologies that reduce carbon emissions and promote environmental sustainability. This policy aligns with:Affordable and Clean Energy, reflecting SSUVs commitment to developing sustainable, low-carbon energy systems both on campus and within the broader community. Through these initiatives, SSUV contributes to building a cleaner, more sustainable future for the education and agricultural sectors in Uzbekistan
