An international scientific and practical conference dedicated to April 26 - International Veterinary Day - “Current problems of modern veterinary pharmacology, innovations and ways to combat the development of antibiotic resistance of microorganisms” has begun at the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology.
The rector of the university, Professor Khudaynazar Yunusov, and the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, scientific director of the Veterinary Research Institute of Pathology, Pharmacology and Therapy, Doctor of V.P.D., Professor Shabunin Sergey Viktorovich, who participated in the conference, spoke about the relevance and importance of the conference topic and wished success in its activities.
Today, ensuring food safety remains one of the main tasks in countries around the world. In various areas of animal husbandry, chemotherapeutic drugs, mainly antibiotics, are widely used to treat a number of diseases that occur in the body of animals and poultry.
As a result, the long-term use of these drugs leads to an increase in the resistance of pathogenic microorganisms to them. In this case, these antibiotics used become ineffective. Therefore, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Shabunin Sergey Viktorovich and others, who spoke at today's international conference, paid attention to ways to eliminate these problems.
It was also noted that the main task of the conference is to create new drugs that effectively protect animals from various pathogenic microorganisms and are harmless to the body, and in this regard, conducting scientific research in collaboration with foreign scientists is an important support.
