$152 MILLION LIVESTOCK PROJECT TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH JAPAN




    The Committee for the Development of Veterinary Medicine and Livestock held a meeting with Yuka Sonoyama, Deputy Head of the Central Asia and Caucasus Region of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

    The meeting discussed cooperation issues within the framework of the project "Development of Livestock and Improvement of Animal Health" worth 152 million US dollars, the press service of the committee reported.

    It was noted that the parties agreed to provide preferential loans to livestock farms, strengthen the material and technical base of scientific research and diagnostic centers in the veterinary field, as well as to improve the skills of specialists.

   It was also agreed to continue the training of local specialists in the areas of prevention of animal diseases, diagnostics and aquaculture in Japan based on JICA grants.
