     Samarkand State Veterinary Medicine, University of Animal Husbandry and Biotechnology, Department of "Biology, Ecology and Medicinal Plants" within the Faculty of Biotechnology, 08/31/2022. It is a department established on the basis of order No. 147, the department has 2 professors, 3 associate professors, 1 B.F.F.D. (PhD), 1 senior teacher, 6 assistants work." "Biology, ecology and medicinal plants" department teaches the basics of ecology, plant ecology, ecology and environmental protection, ecological monitoring, botany and plant physiology, biogeography, biology and genetics. The "Young biologists and ecologists" circle was established in the department and included about 65 students.

     The total hours of the department in the 2024-2025 academic year are 12706 hours. This is a total of 13.75 hours per state unit, and the teaching hours in the department are distributed among professors and teachers based on the lesson schedule.

      The main course is the study of ecology and environmental protection for students of the 1st stage of all faculties of the university.

       The department has 3 educational areas: Technology of cultivation and processing of medicinal plants, Ecology and environmental protection (by branches and sectors) and Water bioresources and aquaculture, and 2 specializations, Technology of cultivation and processing of medicinal plants, specializations of Ecology.
