The word corruption is widely used today in everyday life. Colloquially, this is called “bribery”, and the negative consequences it causes in society are very painful. This evil undermines the foundations of democracy and the rule of law, leads to violations of human rights, and thus generates mistrust in society.
Today, a training seminar on the topic of preventing corruption situations and eliminating bureaucratic barriers in the admissions process for the 2023-24 academic year was held at higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of the Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development. The event was attended by the chief specialist of the department of the Legal Support Committee K.Kariyev, the chief specialist of the 1st department A.Kambarov, vice-rectors of directions, deans of faculties, heads of departments, heads of departments, responsible from the Office of the Admissions Committee for Combating Corruption “Integrated Control” and etc. The event was opened by the rector of the university, professor Yunusov Kh.B.
Circumstances caused by the abuse of power by civil servants, representatives of the authorities or officials, first of all, undermine the trust of citizens in society.
Speakers at the seminar said that in order to prevent this evil, it is first of all important to increase the legal literacy and awareness of our population. In particular, the new version of the adopted Constitution, as well as our by-laws, contain detailed information on sentencing for bribery and preventing corruption.
During the event, a video message from the chairman of the Committee for Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development B. Norkobilov was shown. It stipulated that in the event of any corruption situation, it is necessary to contact the hotline of the Committee by phone.
O. Khamraev, assistant prosecutor of the city of Samarkand, was informed that crimes committed under article 210 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan entail imprisonment for up to 20 years.
The participants were also shown a video about bribery and its other vices.
The university will ensure openness, transparency, will not tolerate cases of corruption, and will also comply with the requirements of the admission processes.
